Iberia to unveil a new maintenance hangar at el prat airport

Iberia will have a new maintenance hangar at el prat airport. the project is part of a joint effort between barcelona's zona franca consortium and the spanish airline and will have its official opening next october.

the new facilities will have an area of 13,000 square meters and will conduct the most comprehensive inspections and repairs in the commercial aviation sector (a-type and c-type). the hangar will be spain's first to provide maintenance services for the airbus 380, the world's largest aircraft.

the facility is expected to create 200 direct jobs.
