The new Henkel hub in Barcelona creates 120+ skilled jobs and manages supply chain operations across 20 European countries.
Henkel has reinforced its commitment to Barcelona with the completion of its new European Supply Chain Planning Hub, a strategic center that plans and coordinates the company’s European supply chain for its Consumer Brands division.
The new hub employs more than 120 professionals of multiple nationalities and strengthens the planning and coordination of Henkel’s supply chain operations across Europe. The investment also underlines the company’s commitment to creating specialized jobs and contributing to economic growth in Spain.
Developed over the past year and a half, the project consolidates Henkel’s presence in Barcelona and further strengthens the city’s role as a strategic business location for international companies managing European operations.

Located in the Catalan capital, the new hub supports planning activities for the European market within the Consumer Brands business, covering the detergents and cosmetics sectors. The team serves a logistics network of 30 distribution centers across 20 countries and manages more than 15,000 SKUs. Its scope includes overseeing 8 billion product units and coordinating production among seven company-owned plants and 47 external manufacturers, including Henkel’s flagship facility in the Iberian Peninsula, located in Montornès del Vallès.
"The launch of the center is based on four strategic pillars aimed at maximizing the efficiency and responsiveness of the supply chain: communication and collaboration, through agile connections and faster knowledge sharing; business support, thanks to a comprehensive strategic vision coordinated at the European level; maximum performance, driven by standardization and continuous process improvement; and talent development, with opportunities for growth and specialization to attract and empower specialized professionals," says Tanja Gilb, Director of the European Supply Chain Planning Hub.
The new center has established itself as a center for international and diverse talent, upholding equal opportunity principles. Its workforce of over 120 professionals includes employees from more than 20 countries, with women representing 57% of the team.
"The decision to establish the Consumer Brands Planning Hub in Barcelona represents a renewed commitment by the Group to Henkel Ibérica. This team of more than 120 people is key to transforming and strengthening the efficiency of the supply chain in Europe in the coming years. Thanks to the successful implementation of the three hubs at Henkel Ibérica in recent years, we have created jobs and expanded our organization by more than 20%," said Adrian Orbea, President of Henkel Ibérica.
The new center joins two existing hubs at Henkel Ibérica: the Indirect Materials and Services Procurement Hub and the European Supply Chain Hub for Adhesive Technologies.
Through these operations, Henkel continues to strengthen its capabilities in Europe and reaffirms the importance of Barcelona and Spain as strategic locations for talent, industrial activity, and high-value business functions.
