Germany's aldi to invest 58 million euros in masquefa

German supermarket chain aldi plans to invest eur 58 million in the construction of a new logistics center in masquefa (anoia). the plant will be the group's largest in spain, with a surface of 32,000 square meters. it will boast 69 loading stations and will be equipped with the latest solar power technology. the center will also act as aldi's spanish headquarters and will house its corporate and procurement offices.
the plant is expected to open by late 2010 and will create 200 new jobs. aldi has a network of 7,000 stores worldwide, with 204 locations in spain and 39 in catalonia.
