Currently operating in Parets del Vallès, K·Line is strengthening its presence in Catalonia with a 20,000-square-meter facility, set to begin operations in the second half of 2026. Once fully operational, the new plant is expected to triple production to 1,500 windows per week and double its workforce.
The land acquisition and construction project for K·Line’s new factory has received support from Catalonia Trade & Investment.
The Minister for Business and Labor learned about the project details firsthand from K·Line’s executives. According to Sàmper, “The construction of this new factory clearly confirms that the company made the right decision in establishing itself in Catalonia, allowing them to further strengthen their commitment.” He also emphasized that “this project embodies all the key elements we promote and seek: an industrial investment that creates stable, high-quality jobs, strengthens the region, and demonstrates a firm commitment to environmental sustainability.”
Meanwhile, Juan Carlos Castaño, General Director of K·Line in Spain and Portugal, emphasized that “this new factory will be a turning point for the company’s growth, as it will not only increase production but also generate wealth and employment in the area by doubling the current workforce in the coming years.”
The new facilities will allow for an increase in production lines and will incorporate sustainability features, such as solar panels to generate the energy needed for lighting, a lighting system that adjusts based on natural light availability, parking spaces for electric vehicles, and a water reuse system.
As part of its K·Line Planet sustainability program, the company will also sort and process three types of aluminum waste to produce pure aluminum blocks from production scraps at the end of their lifecycle. Additionally, it will recover packaging from its clients, among other initiatives, to complete the circular economy cycle. Furthermore, the new factory will allow K·Line to centralize its production lines, offices, warehouse, training space, and showroom, which are currently spread across multiple locations.
K·Line established itself in Spain 25 years ago and has been operating in Parets del Vallès since 2009, where it manufactures aluminum windows and doors for the domestic market, Portugal, and Andorra. In the 1990s, the company set out to democratize aluminum windows through innovative techniques.
K·Line is part of the French Liebot Group, which recorded €860 million in revenue in 2023, operating 13 companies, 21 factories, and employing 4,000 people across five countries. K·Line is one of 1,369 subsidiaries of French parent companies established in Catalonia, according to the latest 2024 Foreign Subsidiary Directory in Catalonia, published by ACCIÓ. In fact, France is the second-largest country in terms of subsidiary presence in Catalonia, accounting for 14% of the total, just behind the United States (15%).
