Catalonia to invest eur 200 million in eco-friendly vehicles

The catalan government is to invest up to eur 200 million over the next three years to promote the use of "green vehicles’"and help companies prepare for the transition towards cleaner technologies.
the catalan green vehicle promotion plan will act as a complement to a similar project announced by the spanish central government a few months ago. the goal is to have some 250,000 registered vehicles by 2014. the catalan government initiative will not only benefit large carmakers such as seat and nissan, but also smaller firms specializing in the production of parts and components for the automotive sector.
