Catalonia’s main airport launches new direct route Barcelona-Toronto

- From May 25th to October 21st, there will be 32,488 seats available in 124 scheduled flights three-times weekly between Toronto and Barcelona.
- Flights will be operated by Canadian WestJet Airlines, which only flew to London, Paris, Dublin and Glasgow so far in Europe and has chosen Barcelona as its first destination in Spain.

Catalan main airport, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, has launched a new direct route between Barcelona and Toronto. From May 25th to October 21st, Canadian WestJet Airlines will operate three-times weekly in 124 scheduled Boeing 767 flights with a total of 32,488 seats available. Barcelona is the first destination in Spain for the airline, which only flew to four European cities so far: London, Paris, Dublin and Glasgow.
The addition of this new route means a growth on North-American flights operated from Barcelona, as the city expects an offer of 1.8 million seats in over 6,300 flights in the summer season. This is 10.3% more seats and 7.6% flights more than same period last year. In fact, the total number of operations for the summer season is also expected to increase with respect to 2018 figures, with 41.1 million seats planned, 6.4% more, and 214,182 commercial flights scheduled, a 4.7% growth.
