To establish itself in the Catalan capital, Stenn has had the support of the Government through ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment - the agency for business competitiveness of the Department of Business and Labour - through the Catalonia Trade and Investment Office in London, as well as the central office in Barcelona.
Stenn's Head of Product and Technology, Bilal Bajwa, assures that "we are establishing ourselves in Catalonia because it is an ideal territory in terms of its ability to attract talent from all over the world, the high quality of its infrastructure for doing business and the mentality of its inhabitants and administrations". For Bajwa, "the Barcelona hub shows the company's commitment to developing cutting-edge technology to offer our customers a better product and service".
The Barcelona branch will focus on developing the software and technology Stenn uses in its business model. To this end, the company has hired staff specializing in engineering, design, and digital security.
Founded in London in 2015, Stenn has developed a digital platform that facilitates online financing for companies worldwide, mostly SMEs. Since its creation, the company estimates that it has already managed to finance clients worth 18,000 million euros, including Catalonia, Spain, and Latin America.
