Barcelona to host a new edition of the GSMA Mobile World Congress
20 Jan 2009
Barcelona is to host for a fourth consecutive year a new edition of the GSMA Mobile World Congress, the year’s most important event for mobile technologies businesses. The GSMA is to be held at Fira de Barcelona facilities from the 16th through the 19th of February.
The GSMA Mobile World Congress (formerly 3GSM World Congress) combines the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry with prominent leaders and personalities from mobile operators and technology businesses. The 2009 Mobile World Congress is expected to attract some 50,000 attendees, including equipment vendors, as well as Internet and entertainment professionals.
ACC1Ó is promoting once again the presence of Catalan mobile telecommunications companies. In this year’s edition, 21 Catalan companies are participating through two different platforms: the Catalan Pavilion is to present eight technology companies with more than five years in business; and the Innovation Zone, which is part of the Innovation Marketplace, with 13 Catalan companies with less than three years in business. The Innovation Zone will also act as a meeting point for some 400 technology companies searching international technology transfer agreements.
