Barcelona takes over ISE, the world's largest exhibition for AV and electronic systems industry
17 Feb 2020
The city of Barcelona will take over Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in 2021, the world's biggest exhibition for AV and electronic systems. Held in Amsterdam during the last few years, the congress gathered in the last edition more than 81,000 attendees and 1,300 exhibitors from around 200 countries.
ISE 2020 completed its 15-year stay in Amsterdam with a special Hola, Barcelona! event held on February, 14th. The Minister for Business and Knowledge, Àngels Chacón, and the CEO of Catalonia Trade and Investment, Joan Romero, participated at the congress and in the closing event.
In preparation for ISE 2021 in Barcelona, about forty Catalan companies from a broad cross-section of vertical markets (specializing in image and sound, habitat, home automation, lighting, and tourism, among others) were invited to ISE 2020 and took part in a special programme of tours, presentations and networking functions, culminating in the Hola, Barcelona! event.
During her speech, Minister Chacón explained that "it is an honor for Catalonia to be able to host one of the most important fairs in the world". She went on to say that "we know that coming to Barcelona generates a lot of expectation: 500 exhibitors from the 1,300 who participated in this year's edition have already reserved for next year".
Chacón added that "ISE is coming to grow in Barcelona, in the same way that the Mobile World Congress did in 2006". ISE Barcelona will be held at Gran Via, part of the Fira de Barcelona exhibition complex, on 2-5 February 2021.
