Barcelona's airport, the best in Europe

Barcelona's el prat airport has received the best european airport award from the airports council international association. el prat was the winner in the “10-25 million passenger” category and won praise from all of the judges for the quality of its services, its shopping infrastructure and security protocols.

the jury praised particularly the opening of the new terminal 1, which received excellent qualifications for its design and use of advanced technologies. the barcelona airport also impressed the judges for its environmental policies: el prat is the first european airport to obtain the iso 14001 certification and has 696 photovoltaic panels on the t1's roof.
