The European Cities Monitor 2011, a report published by consultants Cushman and Wakefield puts Barcelona in sixth position in its ranking of the best European cities to do business. The document is compiled from opinions provided by top executives from 500 leading firms throughout the continent.
Barcelona has in fact dropped one place from last year's fifth position and is now behind London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Berlin, although it had steadily been scaling positions from 11th back in 1990, having held onto one of the top six spots continuously for the last ten years.
According to the same report, Barcelona has once again been chosen in 2011 as the European city with the highest quality of life for working in for the fourteenth year in a row.
