The airline company LEVEL launches a new route from Barcelona to Miami, operating up to four weekly frequencies. For the first time, routes to Los Angeles, Boston, and New York will have daily flights from Barcelona.
LEVEL, IAG's long-haul airline, is improving Barcelona's connectivity to the United States by introducing a new route to Miami. Starting this past March 31st, this strategic move will generate significant opportunities for business travelers and strengthen Barcelona's position as an international business destination in Southern Europe.
The first flight was inaugurated yesterday at Miami International Airport (MDAD), with Ricard Falomir, Chief Digital and Operating Officer of Level Airlines, Emir Pineda, Marketing & Air Service Development Division of Miami-Dade Aviation Department, Marcos González, the director of the Catalonia Trade & Investment Office in Miami, and Meritxell Garcia, the Lead Investment Officer of the Catalonia Trade & Investment Office in Miami.
This development reinforces LEVEL's ongoing commitment to consolidate Barcelona's intercontinental hub to the Americas and strengthen its position as the leading long-haul operator at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
The new route will be operational three times a week —on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays— increasing to four times a week from June to September, providing travelers with direct access from Barcelona to Miami city. The increased frequency of flights also reflects the growing demand for direct connections between Barcelona and major business hubs in the United States.
This air link between Barcelona and Miami has been established thanks to the support of Catalonia Trade and Investment. Specifically, Miami's Catalonia Trade & Investment office has played a critical role in facilitating this important connection between the two regions.
The Catalan region's commitment to fostering international business ties is further demonstrated by LEVEL's broader expansion and increased offerings to various destinations in the United States and Latin America. With an overall increase of 40% in available seats, including additional services to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Santiago de Chile, and Buenos Aires, LEVEL's proactive approach underscores the region's dedication to facilitating global business connectivity.
Introducing the new route between Barcelona and Miami is pivotal for businesses in both regions. As Barcelona's status as a global business center continues to flourish, the collaboration between Catalonia Trade and Investment and LEVEL is a testament to the unwavering commitment to strengthening commercial ties, fostering economic growth, and promoting Barcelona as a key destination for global business opportunities.
