The Belgian company has created 25 jobs and increased capacity at its 2,450-square-meter facility, from where it designs, tests, and produces automation equipment for automotive electronic components, such as battery power systems.

According to the Startup Heatmap Europe 2023, the Catalan capital has been ranked for the sixth consecutive year only behind Berlin and ahead of Amsterdam, Paris, and Lisbon.

The Dutch company is transforming the Barcelona site, which already employs 566 people, into AkzoNobel's main European production center for automotive coatings.

The project is expected to create over 400 direct and 100 indirect jobs.

With this new project, Kronospan's total investment in Catalonia would amount to more than 600 million euros, creating 250 direct jobs and more than 1,500 indirect jobs.

The British multinational has chosen its Spanish subsidiary headquarters in Viladecans (Barcelona) to install its third legal center after opening two offices in Bangalore (India) and Mexico City.

The company will primarily hire engineers at its headquarters in the Catalan capital, which also houses its R&D center in Southern Europe.

The company plans to create about 50 jobs at the Barcelona plant (Santa Margarida i els Monjos).

American video game developer Infinity Ward will be based at the headquarters of Digital Legends in Barcelona, and the two companies will work together to develop Call of Duty projects.
