Deichmann prepares its spanish expansion from barcelona

German shoe group deichmann has set up its spanish headquarters in barcelona to prepare its expansion in the iberian peninsula. the company specializes in low cost footwear and offers its own brands as well as products from manufacturers such as adidas and fila.
with a network of 2,767 stores in 18 european countries and the u.s., deichmann plans to open stores in madrid, valencia and zaragoza. at its board meeting a few months ago, the company said that spain was one of its top priorities for 2010. deichmann ended 2009 with eur 3.4 billion in revenue, up 9% from the previous year.
