Asiana Airlines launches four weekly direct flights between Barcelona and Seoul

31 Aug 2018

The South Korean airline Asiana Airlines has launched a new route, with four weekly direct flights, connecting Barcelona and Seoul. It’s the first time that this company, which up to now had only run charter flights to El Prat Airport, operates regular flights in Spain. This new route strengthens the airline’s long-distance network and offers a greater variety of itineraries to its users.

The first plane of the new route landed in El Prat Airport yesterday afternoon from Seoul’s Incheon airport and the first flight from Barcelona took off at 9:00 pm. For the new route, Asiana Airlines, one of the South Korea’s two major airlines, is going to use a Boeing B777-200 capable of holding 300 passengers. With this new service, Seoul becomes the best-connected Asian city with Barcelona, due to the increased demand of Korean tourists and other passengers seeking flights between the two cities.

El Prat Airport hosted the inaugural act of the Barcelona-Seoul route, celebrated yesterday afternoon. Asiana Airlines’ executive vice president, Moon Myeong Young and other executives and airline’s workers attended the act.
