Unveiling of tecnocampus, a reference centre of the hub for icts in health and wellness

The project, undertaken with an initial investment of €52m, will now receive a further €6.5m in financing from the spanish government in order to put the finishing touches to this major initiative.

tecnocampus is set to take in some 1,300 students per year from a total of eight different degree courses along with the estimated participation of 50 research-based companies which have so far expressed a keen interest in setting up programs on the campus. the new facilities were opened by the spanish government minister for science and technology, cristina garmendia, who mentioned the centre's vocation to encourage the growth of emerging enterprises and help assist with furthering the internationalisation of the local business community.

the hub for icts in health and wellness is just one of the ten strategic hubs created in catalonia and set up with the idea of driving competition in a variety of sectors. they are areas which have been specially conceived to offer outstanding advantages to business investment in a range of intensive, knowledge-based and value added fields, whilst sharing a set of common characteristics.

the hub for icts in health and wellness is in an idyllic on the coast of the maresme in mataró, just north of barcelona and provides businesses with a unique and personalised localtion for a host of innovation orientated firms, working in a whole range of different fields.
