Kern Pharma mulls new acquisitions

Kern pharma, a unit of pharmaceutical group indukern, has announced that it is looking into new acquisitions to grow in catalonia and strengthen its presence in international markets. indukern ceo raul diaz-varela confirmed that its company is interested in acquiring the solvay pharma plant in parets del vallès or one of labiana factories. kern facilities in terrassa could reach its maximum production capacity in less than two years, he added. the group is also studying acquisitions in france and italy to strengthen its european business. in 2008, indukern posted revenue of 550 million euros, up 7.8% over the previous year.
