Eight Catalan technological suppliers participate in France’s foremost fair for technology partner sourcing

Barcelona, 11 of October, 2016.- Eight Catalan technological agents participated on the 5th and 6th of October in the Rendez-vous Carnot 2016 fair in Lió, France’s most important event for sourcing partners for R&D&I projects. With the support of the French office of ACCIÓ, the centres held 171 meetings with companies, scientific laboratories and other French and European tech suppliers.

The centres that formed part of the fair’s 5th edition are part of TECNIO and were Eurecat, Leitat, ICIQ, CTTC-UPC, Nanomol (CSIC), CVC, IREC and GTQ (CSIC). This is the third time that ACCIÓ – the Catalan public agency for business competitiveness – participated in the fair with its own stand, where the technological suppliers were present with their own technology related to fields such as microelectronics, energy, chemistry, advanced materials, industry 4.0, big data, medical imaging, thermotechnology and nanotechnology.

The event brought together over 2,500 professionals, who were able to hold over 8,500 meetings between companies and R&D suppliers, aimed at internationalising technology.

Catalan R&D exports to France

France is second in terms of medium-high and high Catalan export intensity, with first place going to Germany. Catalan R&D exports at a medium-high and high intensity came to 4,137.5 million euros in 2015 and represented 42.3% of total Catalan exports to France. Catalan medium-high and high intensity R&D exports to France represent 11.65% of total exports of this kind.
