Catalan shipping logistics takes the stage in shenzhen

Catalonia trade&investment and the port of barcelona, through the barceloc initiative, will play an active role in the 10th china international logistics and transportation fair

the china international logistics and transportation fair (cilf) is asia’s leading logistics & transport expo and an unmissable global meeting point for all international players in logistics, transport and associated industries. being held this week (october 14-16, 2015) in shenzhen, it is expected to receive some 1,200 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and 80,000 visits from over 60 states and regions. 

barceloc, a joint initiative of catalonia trade&investment and the port of barcelona, is attending the cilf shenzhen 2015. its mission is to offer a business-oriented public service to chinese companies wishing to use barcelona as a hub for their logistics and commercial operations in europe and in the mediterranean. 

in shenzhen, catalonia trade&investment and the port of barcelona will sit down with some 20 firms and logistics operators from hong kong, china and taiwan to discuss not only new strategies in logistics but also the opportunities offered by barcelona and catalonia as a focus for corporate asian investment in southern europe. 

the cilf attracts numerous international and well-known firms and it is the place to discover the latest developments and news from the logistics sector. accordingly, hutchison ports holding, the president of iahp and barceloc will also organize a seminar on the role of the mediterranean and barcelona in asian-european trade distribution. 

jordi torrent, the port of barcelona’s strategy director, will present the port and the barceloc programme. hutchison ports holding will explain the best solution for cargo in southern europe: the best terminal in barcelona is the hutchison's strategic investment in the western mediterranean region and one of the most efficient terminals in the world. finally, santiago garcia-milà, president of the international association of ports & harbours (iaph) and chairman of the european sea ports organization (espo) will explain the upcoming trends and opportunities for business development in europe.
