British Scan Client Publishing establishes headquarters for Southern Europe in Barcelona

British company Scan Client Publishing, a publishing house specialising in corporate magazines, has established its headquarters for Southern Europe in Barcelona. With a current workforce of some 15 employees, Scan Client Publishing plans to reach 30 professionals by the end of 2020. From its new headquarters in the Catalan capital, Scan Client Publishing publishes its new Discover Southern Europe magazine, which is dedicated to promoting tourism in the south of the continent.

Scan Client Publishing’s investment project in Catalonia is supported by Catalonia Trade & Investment, the Government’s agency for business competitiveness.

The British company’s publications are distributed mainly at Gatwick Airport in London, as well as at the main airports in Spain and through about 20 airlines and hotel companies. Scan Client Publishing also publishes digital editions of these magazines. Apart from the tourism sector, the firm also publishes corporate content for architecture, automotive and business schools across Europe.

According to Scan Client Publishing’s director, Thomas Winther, the company has decided to move to Barcelona because it "gives access to international talent who speaks many different languages, as does London, which is what is needed to publish magazines for various markets". Winther also highlights the "quality of the professional profiles" they have found in the Catalan capital.

Besides the offices in the Catalan capital, Scan Client Publishing is headquartered in London and another office in Gothenburg (Sweden). Founded in 2008, the publishing house employs about 40 people worldwide and has a turnover of 4 million euros.

The company is supported by Catalonia Trade & Investment, which is dedicated to foreign investment attraction. The agency operates from Barcelona alongside a network of 40 foreign trade and investment offices around the world, aiming to attract new foreign investment projects to Catalonia.
