Veeva expands its offices in Barcelona with a capacity of 200 workers

The Minister of Business and Labour, Roger Torrent, and the President of Veeva Europe, Chris Moore, inaugurated the new facilities of the American company Veeva in Cornellà (Barcelona), which have a capacity for 200 new workers.

Veeva is one of the world's leading software development companies for the pharmaceutical industry.

For this expansion project in Catalonia, the company has had the support of Catalonia Trade & Investment. With the expansion, the new facilities have an area of ​​2,800m² and place the Catalan headquarters as the largest in the entire region of Western Europe.

The company, which was established in Catalonia in 2010 in a space of 400m², currently has a team of 250 workers in the Cornellà offices. The company expects to reach 10,000 workers internationally in 2025, a fact that will also have an impact on the growth of its headquarters in Catalonia.

During the inauguration ceremony, Torrent said that "we are facing global challenges of paramount importance, which have to do with the planet, the climate emergency and the quality of life of people, which societies demand respond and at the same time raise high value-added business opportunities ”.

"Veeva is a clear example that brings together private and collective benefit and we are grateful for its confidence in Catalonia with the expansion of its offices, which will have a capacity for 200 new workers," he said.

The Minister pointed out that projects such as this strengthen the life sciences hub in Catalonia, which he valued as strategic in the transformation of the Catalan production model, “consisting of 1,200 companies that generate 8.7% of GDP, occupy 250,000 people and that it is becoming more and more powerful ”.

"Catalonia is very well positioned in this field thanks to the assets that we have to keep strengthening, such as the country's research and talent, companies that have opted for Catalonia, university hospitals and organizations such as Biocat," he said.

For his part, the president of Veeva Europea, Chris Moore, emphasized that “for Veeva, Barcelona has become an important hub from which we serve customers from all over Europe: the expansion of our European headquarters reflects the growth we are experiencing as a company as well as our commitment to the city. ”

From the Catalan headquarters, the company supports the company’s more than 1,000 customers around the world, from pharmaceutical multinationals to biotech startups.

Veeva works on cloud software development for the entire product lifecycle, from the initial R&D process to the commercialization phase, intending to bring new therapies to market faster.

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Pleasanton, California, the company had revenue of $1.85 billion in 2021, 26% more than the previous year.
