This year, the German pharmaceutical company is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its IT hub in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona), which has 300 employees and expects to grow by 10% this year, serving more than 50,000 users worldwide.

The company chose Catalonia for its first distribution platform outside Germany, a 10,000 m2 fully automated warehouse.

This new plant with innovative ODC technology produces chlorine efficiently and sustainably, a clear example of Covestro's fully circular strategy.  

The company's strategic plan contemplates hiring 100 new engineers, opening a new factory in the United States, and intensifying its R&D activities by creating new laboratories at its production plant in Montmeló to turn it into one of Europe's leading centers.

From this new office, the US company will support customers not only in the Iberian Peninsula but throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa so that they can manufacture in a more agile and sustainable way.

Yaskawa Ibérica has invested €3 million in the new facilities and plans to double its production reaching €30 million by 2027.

BIG C's project joins recent investments by foreign companies in the video game sector, such as FunPlus from Switzerland, IO Interactive from Denmark, and Rovio from Finland.
