The French company expects to accelerate the development of its hydrogen refueling network in the Iberian Peninsula, where they have already sold nine hydrogen stations.

The multinational has inaugurated the center in Barcelona, planning to hire 100 people for its global and regional hub in various functions, such as finance, IT, business intelligence, human resources, and commercial activities.

With this new project, Kronospan's total investment in Catalonia would amount to more than 600 million euros, creating 250 direct jobs and more than 1,500 indirect jobs.

The new innovation hub will host companies interested in innovating in the blue economy as part of the Tech Barcelona ecosystem, using the Port of Barcelona as a sandbox.

According to the European Commission's European Innovation Scoreboard 2023, Catalonia's overall innovation index is above the European Union average.

The main objectives of the new mandate are to protect the regional interests of European policies, build a network between regions, promote best practices, and reinforce the AER's recognition.

The British multinational has chosen its Spanish subsidiary headquarters in Viladecans (Barcelona) to install its third legal center after opening two offices in Bangalore (India) and Mexico City.

The company will primarily hire engineers at its headquarters in the Catalan capital, which also houses its R&D center in Southern Europe.

The company plans to create about 50 jobs at the Barcelona plant (Santa Margarida i els Monjos).
