
Fujitsu to invest €12 million in new sales centre in barcelona

The japanese it giant fujitsu is set to further its commitment to catalonia, with the opening of a brand new international sales centre in the city at a cost of €12 million. it is due to employ a staff of over 300 when the second phase is up and running at full speed by the end of next year, following a first phase, when 150 workers will be taken on. this will double the number of employees in catalonia, as the ict firm has a total of 300 employees already working in its offices in cornellà de llobregat.
according to angeles delgado, chief executive of fujitsu, spain, the key factors behind choosing to locate the new sales centre in the region had a lot to do with “catalonia’s commitment to new technologies, institutional backing and the choice location of barcelona.” the company has lost no time in setting up and the offices already house some 60 employees, and are set to be a hub for a variety of commercial activities, sales departments and new business areas, as well as taking on the role of in-company training centre.
